The RIS Inspire - HealthySoil4Life, an initiative co-sponsored by EIT Food focusing on soil health and food innovation, is returning with applications open until June 15, 2024.
This program explores entrepreneurship and innovation in soil health and food, delivered in two phases:
Online: July 1–12, 2024
In-person: July 29–August 1, 2024, in the UNESCO-recognized Geopark village of Penha Garcia, Portugal.
Over three weeks, participants will enhance their knowledge of soil health, soil microbiology, and eco-friendly agricultural practices for sustainable and climate-resilient farming, while also contributing to the creation of food business ventures.
The full program fee is €50, with the possibility of waivers. Applications are open exclusively to participants from RIS countries.
This program provides career opportunities for university students, young researchers, or entrepreneurs in the sustainable agri-food sector. Through sessions on food systems, entrepreneurship, problem-solving, critical thinking, leadership, communication, technology management, and data management, delivered by academics and industry experts, participants will gain the skills to tackle agri-food challenges innovatively and sustainably. Topics will include soil health, sustainable farming practices, soil health assessment, data management tools, and more.
Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a Certificate of Participation and have the chance to compete in the Inspire Impact competition, with prizes up to €4,000 for the best ideas. Inspire Impact is free for participants who successfully complete Inspire Schools.
