Portugal in Horizon Europe

Horizon Europe is based on a sustainable, fair and prosperous future for people and planet. It aims to reduce climate change problems, meet the Sustainable Development Goals and boost competitiveness and growth. Horizon Europe 2021 is an ambitious research and innovation program.

The proposed budget for 2021-2027 includes 100 billion euros, which is based on three major pillars such as, Excellent Science, Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness and Innovative Europe.

This strategic plan will impact three areas: scientific, social and economic. Its main objectives are to strengthen science and technology, foster industrial competitiveness and meet strategic priorities at EU level.

The work programs are due to be published in April 2021.
